Privacy policy

Miler is a running app made by Reid Coleman. This page says what the app reads, what it stores, and what leaves your phone.

What stays on your phone

Your runs, routes, heart rate, cadence, shoes, training plan, territory and settings are stored on your device. Runs are also written to Apple Health as workouts if you allow it. Nothing is sent to us to make these features work.

Location

Miler uses your location to record the route, distance and pace of a run, and to keep recording when the phone is locked. It records only during a run you started, or one the app offered to start and you accepted. Location is not used for advertising and is never sold.

Motion and fitness

Step and motion data is used for cadence, to notice when you are in a car (the run pauses), and to notice running you did without recording so the app can offer to log it.

What can leave your phone

If you post a run to Groups, join a club, or join a challenge, Miler sends that run's title, date, distance, time, elevation, a simplified route with the first and last 200 metres removed, and the name you typed to a database we operate (hosted by Supabase). Your account is a random identifier generated on the device; we do not ask for your email or any login. You can remove a posted run from the app, and you can delete everything by deleting the app and, if you want the server copies removed, emailing us with your club code.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Notifications

Rival alerts are local notifications scheduled on your phone. No push server is involved.

Analytics and tracking

Miler contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Children

Miler is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
